County IT division selects change management system and improves processes.
• Increasing requirement to deliver more with less
• Changing regulatory environment driving a new business model
BUSINESS CHALLENGE
The largest county government agency in the USA was faced with the inability to effectively manage change and reliably deploy solutions to support internal IT staff, vendors and the numerous county departments. There was a lack of understanding as to what was in their infrastructure, processes, roles and responsibilities and how they inter-relate cross functionally.
After reviewing their situation, they isolated their core challenge within change management. To do that, they knew they would need to look at the whole picture and understand what they were currently supporting and their capabilities in order to determine the correct course of action.
COVESTIC'S SOLUTION
Covestic was initially engaged by the county IT division to undertake an assessment of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process that the IT division was planning to use to select their preferred Change Management System. During the course of the engagement the scope was widened to include a full review of the end to end Change Management process. The review delivered a detailed proposal, plan and business case for how to move forward with a Change Management improvement program.
RESULTS
The work undertaken meant that executive management were educated about the program and its benefits leading to support and buy-in from key stakeholders and the approval of funding for a multi-year improvement program.
